The Friendship Journey
Orange Ribbons For Jaime has partnered with The Friendship Journey on multiple occasions. Jaime was a volunteer for this beautiful organization, which is dedicated to creating long-lasting friendships without boundaries. ORFJ participated in their “Dance Party Friends”, a program that honors Jaime by giving attendees a chance to partake in an inclusive dance party, have fun, and enjoy themselves in a nurturing environment. We donated $1000 to purchase brand new shirts for the participants of the program along with the volunteers. We also hosted “Firefighters, Friendships, and Fun” for the participants to be able to get an interactive experience at Deerfield Fire Station #102. There was food, fun activities, and lots of smiles! In honor of Jaime’s Birthday one year, we donated ORFJ water bottles to ALL 75 campers of Camp Wings of Friendship, so campers could stay cool and hydrated! In 2022, we donated $1000 to be a sponsor for their camp boxes. We have also been table sponsors the past few years at their annual gala, and this year we donated ORFJ t-shirts to the participants of Jaime’s dance party. In total we have donated $7,700.
Ballet and Books
Orange Ribbons For Jaime collected gently used leotards and books from the community and donated these to Ballet & Books, a wonderful organization that through dance, builds literacy skills and an excitement for reading! We also donated orange ribbons and our signature drawstring bags for each of their campers to use for dance. In addition, we gave several monetary donations to help to provide underprivileged kids the opportunity to learn while dancing. In total, we have donated $4,500.
Humane Society of Broward County
Jaime loved animals. She attended camp two summers in a row at the Humane Society of Broward County and her first dog was adopted from there. Because this was such an important place to her, we donated $2,000 to support their Canines for Community Resilience Animal Assisted Therapy Program, which provided therapy dogs in response to tragic situations such as the one at Jaime’s high school. As a community effort, we also collected toys and supplies for the shelter. In February 2022, we donated ORFJ goodie bags to go home with more than 50 families that adopted pets during their Adopt A Sweetheart event. In addition, in 2024, we sponsored an event here for kids, teens and young adults with special needs. This event provided a donation to Humane Society of Broward County to support their shelter animals and programs. In total, we have donated $4,000.
Paley Institute
We are happy to have had the opportunity to sponsor the Paley Institute’s “Starfish Picnic”. We brought together student volunteers to participate in activities with all of the patients, including water play, arts and crafts, and hair braiding. We also had a face painter, provided lunch for the families and staff, as well as donated books for the children. We did this in honor of Jaime who planned to become a pediatric physical therapist and work at the Paley Institute someday. Dr. Paley’s commitment is to to “Saving Limbs, Changing Lives.” Jaime’s dance team also did a toy drive on behalf of the organization for their holiday party in 2018 and again in 2020! In total, Orange Ribbons For Jaime spent $2,850 in donations.
World Central Kitchen
Orange Ribbons For Jaime raised money specifically to help World Central Kitchen feed those in need, including feeding the community after the Uvalde school shooting as well as after the mass shooting in the Buffalo community. We are proud to have donated $35,000 in total.
Newtown Action Alliance
Donations have been made by Orange Ribbons For Jaime directly to Newtown Action Alliance in support of their yearly National Gun Violence Vigil in Washington DC. This helps provide the resources needed for the several hundred attendees at this vigil. Orange Ribbons Dad has been a frequent attendee and was a speaker at this event for many years. In total we have donated $10,000.
Brady: United Against Gun Violence
Orange Ribbons For Jaime is proud to support Brady and the amazing work they do on gun violence prevention and for survivors of gun violence. Of course this is a cause very close to our hearts and Orange Ribbons Dad has formed a forever bond with this organization. In addition to his work with Brady, Orange Ribbons For Jaime donated $5,000.
JAFCO
In 2026, we connected with JAFCO. Orange Ribbons For Jaime donated t-shirts to the children with developmental disabilities who attend programs provided there. We learned so much about the amazing things they offer to children, teens, adults and their families, and we were thrilled to play a small part in their happiness.
Jacob’s Pillow
Orange Ribbons For Jaime was honored to present a $5,000 donation to sponsor one young dancer to be able to attend Jacob’s Pillow summer program in hopes of becoming a professional dancer. Jacob’s Pillow is home to America’s longest running dance festival, and each year thousands of people come from around the globe to experience it. We are thrilled that our recipient performed at our Dance-A-Thon in Parkland.
Supporting Frontline Workers
Orange Ribbons For Jaime and our community partner, Pasquale’s Pizza Co teamed up to provide 180 meals for lunch and dinner to our frontline workers during the Covid-19 pandemic in recognition of National Nurses Week.
